About us
Steffert Property is a family-owned Waikato business working across property development, project management, marketing and communications.
Our business has grown from property investments made by earlier generations of the Steffert family. Today, we are building on that foundation by developing and investing in our own projects, helping other businesses deliver theirs and providing practical marketing support to organisations that need experienced help.
While property and marketing are two distinct parts of the business, our approach to both is the same. We get to know the people we are working with, take ownership of the job and focus on getting good work delivered.
Property development and project management
Led by Managing Director Chris Steffert, our property work includes developing and investing in our own projects, managing developments for other businesses and partnering with landowners and investors.
Chris has more than 15 years of experience across industrial development, commercial buildings, hotels, residential apartments, retail property and complex redevelopment projects.
Depending on the project, we can help from the early feasibility and planning stages through to consenting, consultant coordination, procurement, construction and final delivery.
Marketing and communications
Led by Sarah Hogan, we provide flexible marketing and communications support to businesses, sports organisations and community groups.
This can be ongoing contracted support, help with a particular project or additional capacity during a busy period. We work as part of our clients’ teams, helping with strategy while also taking responsibility for the practical work needed to bring it to life.
Our marketing experience includes strategy and planning, content and social media, campaigns, websites, online stores, events, sponsorship communications and stakeholder engagement.
Meet the team
Chris Steffert - Managing Director
Chris leads Steffert Property’s development, investment and project management work.
With more than 15 years of property experience, he has worked across industrial land, commercial offices, hotels, retail developments and residential projects. Chris is particularly good at seeing the full picture while staying close to the practical details that keep a project moving.
Outside work, Chris enjoys golf, rugby and spending time with Sarah and their two boys.

Kieran Steffert - Consultant
Kieran, roped in by his big brother, works hard behind the scenes to support our projects, experienced in the agricultural industry and all things 'manual labour' Kieran keeps Chris on track with logistics and how things can practically work.
Kieran, a well known Morrinsville local enjoys coaching rugby and trying to find a winner at Ellerslie.
Sarah Hogan - Marketing & Operations
Sarah leads Steffert Property’s marketing and communications work, alongside managing the operational side of the business.
With a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and experience across sport, property, agriculture and community organisations, Sarah combines strategic thinking with a practical ability to get the work done.
Her experience includes marketing strategy, content and social media, campaigns, websites, events, sponsorship communications and stakeholder engagement. She works closely with clients as an extension of their team, providing the experience and capacity they need without the commitment of a full-time marketing role.
Community Support
Being part of the Morrinsville community matters to us. We believe successful businesses should contribute to the communities around them, which is why we support local sport and community initiatives, including Morrinsville Sports.
For us, that support is about more than having a logo on display. It helps local organisations create opportunities, improve facilities and give more people a place to participate and belong.
